In a move aimed primarily at reducing the risk to non-target species, new rules on the purchase and use of rodenticide bait came into force in 2016. This legislation restricts access to professional FGARs and SGARs for anyone not in posession of certified 'proof of competency' in rodent pest control.
Other than by securing a formal qualification, this leaves our farmers with two options; Rely upon one of the much less effective amateur rodenticides (with an over the counter purchase limit of 1.5Kg), or to engage the services of qualified, professional pest control experts such as Surepest.

Uncontrolled rabbit populations are known to seriously damage commercial crops, especially young plants, whilst their burrowing undermines roads, banks and fencing. . . often causing widespread structural issues for farmers and smaller scale commercial growers alike.

One breeding doe can have as many as 5 litters a year of 6 to 8 kits each time. This rate of reproduction, made worse by a warming climate, means that rabbit populations are predicted to explode across the county in the spring, so aggressive control is absolutely essential.

As a prey species, deer breed more rapidly than is necessary simply to sustain their population.
